De voor- en nadelen van online leren.

In het afgelopen decennium is er een snelle toename geweest van het aantal studenten dat online onderwijs volgt. Volgens een rapport van Babson Research Group heeft maar liefst 32% van de studenten in de Verenigde Staten in 2016 minstens één online les gevolgd, vergeleken met slechts 17% in 2010. Met zo’n aanzienlijke toename in populariteit is het geen wonder dat mensen zich beginnen af te vragen of online leren echt zo effectief is als traditioneel klassikaal leren. Laten we de voor- en nadelen van beide nader bekijken, zodat je voor jezelf kunt beslissen wat voor jou het juiste type leeromgeving is.

Klassikaal vs. online leren: Wat is effectiever?

Er zijn een aantal duidelijke voor- en nadelen aan zowel klassikaal als online leren. Er zij echter op gewezen dat deze studie geen studenten van gelijke bekwaamheid vergeleek, maar studenten die ervoor hadden gekozen online cursussen te volgen met degenen die ervoor hadden gekozen deze in een traditionele klassikale omgeving te volgen. Dit suggereert dat studenten die goed gedijen in een online leeromgeving misschien gewoon gemotiveerder en zelfsturend zijn dan hun medestudenten die de voorkeur geven aan face-to-face onderwijs.
